Rave Scout Cookies is a newly-launched multimedia platform featuring an online music mix series, a handbook and newsletter prioritizing harm reduction information, community building and community care. It also has its own line of candles, and a soon-to-launch interactive events and networking app.
This multiapproach platform is stemmed from a vital movement in the dance music realm, pioneered by a marginalized individual prioritizing marginalized talent and as a way to help preserve underground nightlife communities and queer spaces. According to founder Salman Jaberi, “Its primary goal is to restore the collective effort our ancestral rave-mothers and DNA put into forming conscious communities in-which our planet has lost throughout time.”
From there stems Rave Scouts' multi-pronged approach: creating room and building a network base for underrepresented and undiscovered marginalized talent, promoting harm reduction, uncovering the unarticulated history of dance music, and more importantly, touching base on the politics that came to form dance floors today.
All of this can be found at its central web home: https://ravescout.club/. From educational resources and the mix series, to enjoying candles scented and titled such as: “Toilet-Trip”, “Darkroom”, “Paranoia” and “Speed”, to calling the 24-hr “Ravemergency Hotline”, there are many ways to participate and plug into this community platform. Rave Scouts currently has 18 mixes available, featuring artists like: DJ Hermano (Bogota), Ouissam (Hanoi), ‘nohup’ (Seattle), Karen Wilkins (London), Fana’ (Cleveland), Brett Labauve (New Orleans), and Leesh (Chicago).
With its first public event hosted February 9, 2020 at Bossa Nova Civic Club in New York City, Rave Scouts’ officially partnered with renowned harm-reduction output DanceSafe National, which has been providing education and drug-testing kits to promote health and safety especially among the nightlife and electronic music community across North America for over 25 years.
Community support is vital as ever, while this platform supports the safety and wellbeing of a growing network of marginalized people in nightlife who may not have otherwise had a chance to connect or find that network of support.
About Rave Scout Cookies
Rave Scout Cookies is a multimedia underground electronic-music platform devoted to bolstering a diverse roster of underrepresented and undiscovered marginalized artists, collectives, talents, and ravers. The core of its brand is inspired by the African American Boy Scout Movement that came to arise in 1911. Following the establishment of the Boys Scout of America in 1910, the original organization catered exclusively to white youth, and so the African American Boy Scout troop came to form in Kentucky and salvaged their ethical code by turning it on its head. To be a Rave Scout, one must be inclusive of all inhabitants of our realm - regardless of one's ethnic background, social status, disabilities, gender, or sexuality. We are a collective of ravers who want to support and propel each other forward. Rave Scout Cookies is a set of five multi-channeled media outlets and applications concentrated on foregrounding a diverse roster of talent and highlighting a broad spectrum of rave-related subject matters such as the genesis of EDM, dancefloor politics, and harm reduction. RSC’s current active outlets are The Rave Scout Cookies Newsletter, Mix Series, and URL Functions;

About Salman Jaberi
Founder of Rave Scout Cookies, born and raised on a tiny mystical Island of Bahrain in the Gulf Region of the Middle East, Salman moved to London for college at the age of sixteen. Salman began his journey within the electronic music scene after he slumped into a four-day time-warp hole, attending industrial warehouses and after-hours in East London when he coincidentally crossed paths with a flock of goth ravers after locking himself of his apartment one morning. His professional involvement in the scene, however, began shortly after moving to the US in 2015. His passion and interest in dancefloor politics and purpose to make a change gradually came to light as he dived deep into the North American underground queer techno community.
